Meetings are open to anyone interested in a Buddhist path to recovery from any addicitive pattern. Refuge Recovery is "a practice, a process, a set of tools, a treatment, and a path to healing addiction and the suffering caused by addiction," drawn from the book Refuge Recovery by Noah Levine.  Meetings begin with a guided meditation, followed by discussion and/or book study.    No experience with Buddhism, meditation or recovery is required.

The book Refuge Recovery is available in bookstores, online and at meetings for purchase.

The Asheville Shambhala Center provides the meeting space for Refuge Recovery. Neither the Asheville Shambhala Meditation Center nor Shambhala USA are affiliated with the Refuge Recovery organization and its programs.
